What Does Ultra Sound Scan Finding Of Complex Anechoic Lesion In My Ovary Indicate?

My ultrasound shows that my right ovary contains a small 1.4x1.4x1.4cm complex anechoic lesion, demonstrating a thin internal septation and mild mural irregularity, including a mural nodule containing shadowing calcification, measuring 5 mm in diameter. I am to have a follow up ultrasound in 3 months. Should I be concerned?

Hi, thanks for writing..
This could be a dermoid cyst since there is mural nodule and calcification.. It is necessary to follow up this cyst to know the nature of cyst.. Benign cyust like dermoid cyst will grow slowly and if the size increases, cyst removal is advised.. If sudden increase in size with irregularity can be cancerous which might require ovariotomy.. You neednot worry at this point.. But close monitoring is advisable.. Hope I have answered your query.. Good day..
