What Does Uncomfortable Sore Lump Between Vagina And Anus Suggest?

Hi. I have a sore lump between my vagina and anus. It s about the size of a small marble and is very uncomfortable. I had this a few months back and it eventually went down by itself but this time it seems bigger and more uncomfortable. Any ideas what it could be?!

General & Family Physician 's  Response

As you describe,it seems like you are suffering from a perineal abscess-a soft tissue infection in this area.
This needs to be treated with antibiotics and analgesics. For such patients in my clinic,I usually give antibiotics like amoxicillin+cloxacillin or azithromycin(if not allergic to),along with analgesics like diclofenac or ibuprofen(tylenol is unlikely to help pain in this area).Anyhow,if there is already a pus collection,we will have to drain that before starting the antibiotics.Kindly avoid any delay in treatment,as this can cause progression of infection.
Your doctor will guide you in this.
