What Does Uterine Lining At 14 Indicate?

I just had an ultrasound today due to the fact of having Con traction like cramps below sternum to pelvic line , bright red bleeding, and nausea and 2 golf ball size clots. I am almsot 4 weeks postpartum I had a c section. They told me my uterine linING is at 14 instead of 12. I am not sure what thus means. Or even what the next step is if it thin.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The ultrasound shows a thickened uterine lining as compared to what was expected. Bleeding and clot in uterus can be seen in postpartum stage. I suggest you to consult a gynecologist for clinical assessment and uterine biopsy if required to look for evidence of any hyperplasia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
