What Does Vaginal White Discharge Signify?

Hi my boyfriend and I have unprotected sex very often. He told me that I have an odor. When I was younger I always noticed my discharge. When he and I are finished I realize there is this white substance on his penis. I just want to know is it a yeast infection or a sexually transmitted disease

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

It is very difficult to differentiate between a yeast infection and a sexually transmitted disease. I would advise a course of doxycycline both for you and your partner and advise you to use vaginal shampoo containing lactobacillus for 6 days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sujoy S. Bhattacharjee, OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine
