What Does Vertigo Along With Vomiting And Diarrhea Indicate?

My 54 year old sister has had vertigo since Sunday, also vomiting and diarrhea. Saw the Dr on Monday who told her it was the flu. She is still unable to keep any liquids down, nor has she eaten. Is not running a fever. Not sure if this is flu or something else?
