What Does Vomiting After Injury To Head And Pain In Back Indicate?

Hello! My 12 year old son had a portable basketball hoop fall on him today around 3:00 pm. The metal pole hit his head, he said he felt fine, he answered his name right away and birth date. He said his arm and back was sore so I gave him Motrin at 8:00 pm. It is now 12:45 am and he just woke up and vomited. Asked him his name and birth date and he got it correct. Should I take him to the ER?

Hello dear,
Very thankful for your contact to Heaith Care Magic. I read and understand your concern. It seems your child has trauma of head , because dull subject hit his head, he vomited, which pointed to increasing of intra cranial pressure.
I suggest -
1.You should take your child to the ER, consult pediatric neurologist.
2.He might require neuroimaging, especially CT scan of head, X-ray of spinal cord
3.If he feels pain you can give him painkillers: paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Take care!
