What Does White Blood Cells In Stool Mean?

6 month old granddaughter that has WBC s in stool. Her homeopathic mother has bought breast milk. This child is supposedly lactose intolerant. The baby only sleeps one hour at a time then up an hour. The pediatrician states baby is lactose intolerant and then recommends a diet of bizarre ingredients you can only buy online. This was an invitro baby with lots of hormones to keep pregnancy viable. Could this baby be in some type of withdrawal from hormones?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Lactose intolerance is a common problem for babies but this would not be affected by the breast milk unless the mother who expressed the milk used a lot of products with lactose.

The problems with sleep are not likely related to the fact that she was invitro or any of the hormones given. In some cases, problems with sleep are due to how full the baby may be after feeding prior to sleep, though this is not always the cause.

I hope this helps
