What Does White Fatty Substance In Stool Indicate With Family History Of Cancer?

For a few weeks now I have been passing a white fatty substance with my bowel movements, every time. My mother had hereditary non poliposis colon cancer.. so this is a huge concern for me when things aren t looking right coming out. Is this something to be concerned about

Thanks for your query.
White fatty substance is indicative of an ''Obstructive jaundice'' and due to stoppage of passage of bile in the intestine and hence fat is not saponified hence the appearance.
I would advise you the following:
Stool test for sterobilinogen.
Complete liver profile including alkaline phoshatage and GGT
MRCP
ERCP
Opinion of a surgical Gastroenterologist and to go for further procedures as per the reports.
The causes are divided into two group:
- Benign like stone and stricture in the bile duct or post-pancreatitis and so on.
2. Cancer of the bile ducts or head of pancreas.
Hence the treatment depends upon h findings of the tests as mentioned above.
