What Does Widal Test Report Suggest. Prescribed Mahacef Plus And Not Having Fever. Is This Contagious?

Para Typhi AH negative
Para Typhi BH Positive 1;80 DIL

Please give your analysis. I have been prescribed MAHACEF PLUS twice a day I am not having fever. I had fever for last 4 days..Is this contagious/

Thanks for writing to HCM

No,you are not suffering from typhoid fever. Widal test is negative in your case.
Antibodies titre O or H greater than or equal to 1: 160 is considered positive.
You have typhi O and Para Typhi BH 1:80 and this is negative value.
However four fold increase in titre is considered confirmatory.
You was rightly prescribed antibiotics empirically since you had fever for four days.
It is not contagious at all.
