Hi
Well come to HCM
This could be echo gram and not sono gram given report is not valid or must be missing some right term because prominent aorta may be due to age and this is not indication of any disease, second clinical complain is not given here, for high blood pressure heart echography being done and not just for aorta, detail report would be helpful in giving some advise, and this would be appreciated, take care, have a nice day.

HI
Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic.

A prominent aorta is not an abnormal finding but only if some part of Aorta is prominent then that could be an matter of concern. Because if there is some constriction at some point in Aorta, the part of Aorta above this constriction can become prominent.

Also Aortic Constriction is one of the cause of High Blood pressure and it needs to be corrected . In that case he needs to get Abdominal Aortic Angiography.

But if the prominence is seen throughout the Abdominal Aorta then no need to worry.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .

Regards.

hi
abdominal aorta sonogram is usually done to rule out the specific cause of uncontrolled hypertension, when other cause is ruled out.
either to rule out any aortic aneurysm, or stenosis, or any other cause of intra abdominal hypertension.
aorta can be prominent due to the prolonged stress of raised blood pressure, which can relatively progress into dissectional, or aneurysmal changes in later stages.
please check out for his lipid profile too, too rule out atherosclerosis.
all the best
take care
