What Effect Does The Antibiotic Have On My Birth Control Pill?

i started taking 250mg azithromycin (2 the 1st day and 1 for 4 more days) on the same day as i started my blank alesse birth control pills. my period started 2 days later. what affect does the antibiotic have on my birth control and should i be worried? when can i have unprotected sex again?
