What Exactly Does Hyperechoic Calcification On Ultrasound Mean?
my daughter is 28 years old had an ultrasound exam and the report is normal except a comment of a small hyperechoic calcification with weak acoustic shadow is revealed in right Hepatic lobe what exactly does it mean? is this clinically significant and need to follow up ?
Small calcification can be seen in the liver due to mild infections like granulomas in the past. If the calcification is small then there is no reason to worry and no treatment needs to be taken. If your daughter has a high alcohol intake then she may have to restrict it. You may get if followed up after 6 months to be certain that is is not progressing in size.
