What Food Items Can Be Included In A Low Fat Diet?

My mother-in-law was just put on a low fat diet and I would like a list of foods high in fat that she should avoid eating. She was eating a lot of pot pies, frozen pizza s, donuts, potato chips etc. She eats a lot of already made meals like the Banquet brand salsbury steaks etc. They gave her examples of the good foods I just feel she needs to see in black and white what the bad choices are that she has been making.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Indeed, pot pies, frozen pizza, doughnuts, potatoe chips, and already made meals are high in calories and fat. That's why we call them bad foods to avoid. They might seem tasty and ready to eat, but not healthy, and not to consume every day. What we encourage is to eat avocado, cheese, whole eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, olive oil, etc are samples of good fatty foods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
