What Happens During An Abortion?

Hi my name is angela, im 5 weeks pregnant but im to young to have a child and my parents would freak out if they knew i was. so my aunt has offered to take me to get a abortion but i want to know every kind of abortion i could get and everything about them including what happens before, during, and after. Understand your concern
1. Care before abortion:
It should be done under observation of obstetrician after getting proper guidance, mind preparedness for abortion.
Mifepristone plus misoprostol is safe and effective.
Pelvic examination and Hb,
USG scan : to confirm intrauterine pregnancy of less than 9 week.
Home use is prohibited as it cause serious complication like excessive and prolonged bleeding, molar and ectopic pregnancy, infection, high chance of failure, abnormal development of pregnancy

2. Abortion process:
Dose and schedule, it can be modified by obstetricians
Day 1: tablet mifepristone 600 mg orally
Day 3: tablet 400 ug vaginally by obstetrician, another 400 ug after 4 hour.
Day 14: USG scan to confirm incomplete abortion

Abortion process is start with in 30-40 minutes after last pills. and it will remain for 4-5 days.
Bleeding with clots and tissue passed just more than periods, that is bearable.
Cramp due to intrauterine contractions.
Side effects like fever, back pain , tiredness , lethargy will occur

3. Post abortion care:
Consult the doctor if bleeding continues after 7 days.
Rest for 48 hour, maintain pelvic hygiene, analgesic.
