What Happens If Ultrasound Shows Left Ovary With Follicle?

Hi, i m 28 and had lost right ovary @ 13yr of age due to twisted ovarian cyst. TTC since Jan had recent ultrasound on day 9, it shows , left ovary has follicle size 16mm, endometrial thickness 8mm, and they also saw a nodula on left ovary and some free fluid on right side. Any suggestions pls.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
In menstrual cycle, the ovaries and endometrium undergo a cyclic change.
The start of the cycle is marked by formation of ovarian follicles and formation of single dominant follicle.
At the same time, the endometrial thickness increases.
The dominant ovarian follicle ruptures to release mature follicle.
Thus, the follicle measuring 16 mm in left ovary could be the dominant follicle with corresponding increase in endometrial thickness.
Formation of dominant follicle and free fluid appears at the time of ovulation.
Thus, the ovarian scan appears to be the follicular scan and there is nothing to worry.
