What Is CAL And What Can Be Done To Correct It?

I am 73 year old man, 69kg. I have had a chronic pain in my right side chest. X ray report says the lungs are hyperinflated which is consistent with CAL. No areas of collapse or consolidation. No significant pleural abnormality is seen.

I have never smoked or worked in Asbestos and kept fit all my life but about 3years ago I had a house fire and went into the roof space where there was some smoke from burning polystyrene.

My question is what is CAL and what can I do to correct it.

CAL is Chronic Airflow Limitation. It is usually seen with COPD. CAL is not used now a days. And no need to worry as you are completely symptom free.
