What Is Levipil Used For?

Hi sir, 2 months back i went to play badminton and after some time i tired a lot and suddently i lost my consciousness (not sure this happened due to not having proper food/weakness/any other problem), Just for confirmation i approached a neurologist and doctor asked me to take the CT brain scan and EEG, both reports looks normal . Doctor asked me to take the Levipil - 250mg for 1 year, is this good to take for 1 year . Thanks, RKA

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Levipil is used to treat seizure activity, it is one of the newer medications and it is effective.

Unexplained loss of consciousness can sometimes be due to seizure activity. You may want to consider a heart assessment such as an ECG and/or Holter (24 hour ECG), to make sure that the loss of consciousness is not related to the heart.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
