What Is A Brown Spot On Roof Of Mouth Suggestive Of?
i found a black or brown spot on the roof of my mouth. it isn't sore. my cousin had throat cancer and my grandmother had cancer in back of her neck. when should I be concerned? I am a smoker. thank you anyway. I am gonna go to a doctor. I cant upload any images.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... Brown spots on the roof of mouth is because of excessive cigarette smoking as smoking causes excessive palatal burning and leads to formation of spots known as nicotine palatinus. This condition is reversible and will come to normal state after stopping of smoking. If these pigments becoming red and causing difficulty in swallowing, eating and causing any itchy and burning sensation then it could be a condition which you need to worry about. You should visit your nearby dentist just to make sure that these areas are not because of any serious mouth pathology rather just because of effect of smoke. Dentist may take a sample from these dark spots and will do biopsy for the same to find exact diagnosis and then treatment can be done accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
