What Is A Faint Positive Line In The HPT Post A Medical Abortion Suggestive Of?
Hello I've had a medical abortion 2 weeks and 5 days ago I took a pregnancy test on 2 weeks after it came up positive but i did 2 today in the morning and there's a really faint line. Could it just be that the pregnancy tests were different and the other one wasn't really sensitive and therefore there is still hormones left ?
As a physician, I would like to tell you that it is usually advised to take a HPT test 4 weeks after you abortion because there is still a bit of hormone left in your blood which comes around 4 weeks to come back to normal.
Thus, I would suggest that you should repeat the test after 2 weeks (total 4 weeks after medical abortion) and if it still comes out to be faintly positive, you should visit your MD Ob/gy doctor as soon as possible.
Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question. Have a nice day.
Regards, Dr. Abhijeet
