Hi,

If I am not mistaken you are probably asking about the normal levels of Hemoglobin A1c (glycated hemoglobin) which reflects the average blood glucose concentration over previous 3-4 months. The normal Hemoglobin A1c is less than 5.7%. The condition is called as pre-diabetes if it is between 5.7% to 6.4%. Diabetes is diagnosed at an A1C of greater than or equal to 6.5%, and at this concentration treatment of diabetes is usually given.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
