What Is A Large Burise On Left Hip Indicative Of?

I have a large bruise on my left hip that has been there for ten days with no change. I m not aware of injuring it. I have had both hips replaced years ago then back surgery for scoliosis. Only change I know of is increased walking without a cane. I go to the gym every morning and either swim, do weighs, or the treadmill, though I ve recently added the elliptical to this. Any ideas what could be going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to an injury of the hip.
It can be caused even by a micro trauma that you have not noticed.
I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation.
I also suggest using cold compresses for local application.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
