What Is A Non-bleed Type Stroke?

my husband age 51 6'1 sustained an electrical shock while kneeling in water and lifting a water well head of over 100 pounds. It was enough to knock his false teeth forward. He got up a little dazed with only a bruise where he came in contact with the electrical box. He was fine for the rest of the evening, only scared and humbled. 18 hours later he woke up and started experiencing complications with walking, numbness etc. Within hours he had no feeling in his left side (also side of injury) Dead weight on the left. said it felt like when your foot falls asleep. progressed to left side arm and numbness in face. Talked fine. No change in attitute. smile fine. Hospital trying to rule out stroke. Could not get them to look at swelling on his back left side. Wanted to go with stroke first. Now starting to get a little feeling back now that swelling in down some. They want to send him home from hospital with physical therapy saying it is non bleed type of stroke. Problem is, if they will not even consider that the electrocution caused this, I don't think homeowners insurance will pay if we don't qualify for medical since we have no insurance. Is there something I can ask them to show us to prove what they say is the problem? Any other thought you might have on this. We are desparate.
