What Is A Painful Area Below The Ribcage With Red Streaks Suggestive Of?

I am having pain on my left side in the rib area. radiating from the back to the front. It is about mid back area just below my bra strap. I have already had my gallbladder removed so it can t be that. I m a little worried about shingles there are some red streaks in that area but no blisters. I have never had them before not sure how they look. Thanks Gail

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms can be related to shingles.

I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen 400 mg to relieve the pain.

I also suggest using Acyclovir cream for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
