What Is A Small Blood Clot Near The Cervix Suggestive Of?

Good evening. I m hoping you can spread some light on information I received today. I was sent to a specialist in concerns I had an incompetent cervix. My cervix measured 38 which he said was fine. My question is he wants to see me every two weeks now because he s concerned about a small blood clot looking debris near my cervix.im 21 weeks and have not bled at all. I had a previous PTL and delivered my son at 17 weeks. I m wondering why this little blood clot is a concern to him?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a gynecologist and get evaluated.

A per speculum examination is required to look for any internal causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
