What Is A Small Brownish Spot On The Inside Of Bottom Lip Suggestive Of?
Hi Doctor, I have a small brownish spot on the inside of my bottom lip that is not painful in any kind of way, it just stands a little taller on the lip. I have no history of cancer in my family and do not smoke or chew tobacco. Should I be concerned?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of small brownish spot on the inside of bottom lip which seem sto be due to mucocele and can occur due to minor injury to duct of salivary gland which gets blocked which turned into a mucocele.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult dentist /oral surgeon for proper examination and rule out other growth. Doctor will perform physical examination and may order biopsy to rule out any malignancy. Doctor may recommend surgical removal and may prescribe steroid topical.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
