What Is An Hypoechoic Sol And Treatment Option For The Same?
hi. i am anita roy. i have got my usg report and i have found a hypoechoic sol on right lobe of liver meaauring 39. 2 mn* 31. 2 mn. now i have suggested to do ct scan. can you please tell what is hypoechoic sol? is there any worry? should i operate it??
It suggests a space-occupying lesion in the right lobe of the liver which has hypoechoic intensity on USG. Nature of it can be determined by a CT scan and a needle biopsy.
Most of the times it is a pus-filled liver abscess which does not require any surgery and managed by a long course of antibiotics especially, metronidazole.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
