What Is An Alternative To Prednisone For Poly Contras?
my bother in law has a redness around the eye area and the doctors call it Polly Contras. He has been on prednisone but it has side effects of water retention, weight gain and anxiety. Is there something else he can take to help. I can t find Polly Contras on the internet.

It seems from the history that your brother in law is having polymyisitis an autoimmune disease.
He is using steroids for treatment in the form of prednisolone and he is know having side effects like weight gain, anxiety....
Hence steroids needs to be stopped and he can steroid sparing drugs in the form of antimetabolites.
Hence I advice him to consult doctor for prescription of the appropriate drugs.
