What Is An Alternative To Surgery For A Painful Mucus Cyst On The Middle Finger?

I have a painful mucus cyst on right middle finger that has been lanced. It is very painful to touch but not painful if not touched or bumped. Surgery has been recommended however I live alone and won't have anyone for long periods to help me dress, cook, take care of my cats if I'm unable to use my right (smart) hand....even writing checks, etc. may be a problem for what? About 2 weeks

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
If it is really a skin lesion and tender, then it can be first given try conservatively, if this does not give any response then you can think about the surgery if I would be your doctor then I would treat this problem with the following medicine,
1) Tab. Ibuprofen 200 mg three times in day
2) Tab. Acetaminophen three times in day
3) Tab. Cefdinir 300 mg twice in day for five days
Hope this treatment helps you, take care and have nice day.
