welcome to HCM.Source of acne in women is thought to be excess of male hormone androgens.Hence if all treatment fails the combination pill (a combination of estrogen and progestin taken orally) are often prescribed for hormonal acne. Low doses of estrogen help suppress the androgens produced by your ovaries. Side effects include melasma,breast tenderness etc..Take care.
