What Is Bump In Inner Vsginal Lip?

Hi.Im a 26 year old woman fairly healthy and all. But Last night I discovered I had a bump on my inner left vagina lip its a size of a pea, a it looks like a spot on the inside of the lip, or it could be a cyst, i have no idea.I have never seen this before, It does not hurt, but the fact that i know it is there makes me feel very uncomfortable with myself. I am desperate to get rid of this. What could this be?//Catherine

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are glands in the vaginal area that can form cysts. A Bartholin's gland cyst is very common.

It may go away on its own but it is best to see a doctor and get it taken care of.

It does not mean that anything serious is wrong, but you do need to get it checked.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
