What Is Causing Continuous Fever And Throat Pain?

my son 10 y old has a high temp (39.5 C aprox.) since 24h he`s got ibuprofen and some different medicaments to bit a fever but it`s working only for 1 h every time. He has a throat pain and white coating on the tonsils... I think that he need antibiotic treatment. Shall I call ambulance and doctor
