What Is Causing My Sleeplessness And Tiredness?

I used to be able to do heavy laboring until recently, I quit smoking and drinking recently also. I do not get much sleep maybe 5 -6 hrs a night. I feel like i'm about to passout after doing some heavy lifting at work. i even had to call and stay in the hospital over night a couple of days ago. I used to have anxiety when i smoked pot long ago. Any tips or advice

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would like to explain that your symptoms may be related to anxiety or withdrawal syndrome (due to stopping smoking and drinking).

These are two habits which cause psychological and physical addiction.
The psychological addiction lasts longer and causes sleep problems, mood changes and chronic fatigue.

I would recommend you to perform a routine blood test (to exclude a possible chronic anemia), kidney and liver function tests, blood electrolytes and an ECG.
These tests are needed to exclude other possible causes that may mimic this clinical scenario.

A regular monitoring of your blood pressure would be useful to exclude a possible low blood pressure as the cause of your limitations during daily activity.

Psychotherapy may be very helpful in your situation.

Hope to have been of help!

Greetings! Dr. Iliri
