Hi i have been having a symptom that i feel a numbness/ pain in my right side upper chest as it feels coming from deep inside very mild though. At first it used to be like this but now it also spreads to my arm, armpit and sometimes backside to and mostly this numb pain feeling starts when i'm sitting in an air conditioned environment, when i breathe deep (inhaling and sometimes exhaling) i also experience shortness of breath. I'm also allergic to dust and some smoke and also feel difficulty breathing through nose as it give and audible wheezing sound type of thing. i do cough rarely but have been like having coughing fits like around twice to thrice times a day for past two days. I've been smoking cigarettes for past 7 years also and this pain and numbness has been since last continous episodes of flu and cough in last year (say four to five months back). I also a family history of 3 people in family having TB (from my mother's side, though my mom is ok but she has fibrosing alveolites) of which 2 died of this disease and 1 survived and is back in health Thanks to God. As for me, i guess i got to know what's the case with me.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query.Your problem is most likely chronic bronchitis as you have a history of smoking also.It is better to rule out TB by doing a sputum analysis and X ray chest.X ray chest also give findings to rule out chronic bronchitis. For chronic bronchitis i treat my patients with mucolytics, antibiotics if necessary, bronchodilators like terbutaline and corticosteroids if necessary. Take enough water to rehydrate the body.Take vitamin C.Avoidance of smoking will gives you good prognosis.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
