What Is Causing Swelling Of My Ankle By End Of The Day?

I have High blood pressure. I ve been taking lisonpril hztz for about 7 years. Had some blood work done about 2 weeks ago and my kidneys showed my creatine was 1.0 So the Doctor took me off of the lisonpril and put me on hydrazine 25 mg 2 times a day and also amlodipine besylate 10 mg 1 time a day. Since I have quit taking the linopril my left ankle swells by the end of the day. What could be happening to me. I m just 52 years old and I do not smoke or drink. Im active and work 8 to 9 hours a day.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Your ankle swelling is due to high dosage of amlodipine for sure, don't search for other cause now.

I can't understand why your doctor has changed the medicine at serum Creat of 1.0.its absolutely normal.

Your previous combination is far better.
Your hydrazide is also at higher dosage.

Ask your doctor to decrease the amlodipine at lower dosage and hydrazide and restart lisinopril.

Ankles swelling is a wellkknown side effect of amlodipine. Don't worry your swelling will be better once amlodipine will be stopped or reduced.
