What Is Causing Swelling, Pain And Numbness In Hands?

I had gastric bipass back in 2004, i have low vit D levels, now I was told I have low potasium levels taking supplements on both. But i have been having swelling, pain,, numbness both hands for about 2 wks now.. would this be related and shouldnt it be better know that i am taking supplements? I am 31, 5'2 and wt 117-120
