One of the best ways to improve your lipid profile (raise hdl and lower ldl levels) is to do at leat 25 minutes of cardiovascular exercise every day (your heart rate needs to be about 150% of its normal rate). Reducing saturated fat in your diet also helps. Eating oily fish also helps but this has been shown to raise triglycerides so don't overdo it!
