What Is Lover's Knot And How Is It Treated?

Hi I am 33 years old, 6ft and 12 stone; never had a problem in my testicles until recently I have had a dull ache in my left testicle. I went to the doctor he just said it was 'lover's knot' am not sure what that is? Are there any cures to reilef this apart from pain killers? Thanks.

My Impression-
Based on facts of your querry, you seems to suffer from-
Varicocele ? Tender Epdidymis head
Treat-
Consult Urologist if its Varicocele after USG and color doppler study.
If its tender epididymal head, don't worry.
Just take tab diclofenac - 2 per for 5 days time.
If it still persists- Consult dermatologist for past STD and get treated accordingly.
so Don't worry and take care as suggested above.

Hope this would help you to resolve your worries and plan further treatment with your doctors there.

Hi
The dull ache in the testicle might be caused by several reasons. Left testis is vulnerable to development of varicocele or in simple words the dilated veins. These dilated veins may be felt as a bag of worms at end of testis. This condition may give rise to dragging or dull ache in the testis. Lover's knot phrase is used in certain circumstances for special knots, the surgical knots but here it is used in relation to epididymis vasculature.
Another causes of dull ache are movable testis, swelling of tail of testis and hernia etc. It would be better if you go for an ultrasound examination of the scrotum as well as the urine work to rule out concurrent urine infection.
