What Is Meaning Of Hyperintense Lesion In Right Superior External Capsule?

what does it mean when an MRI report says there is a hyperintense lesion in the right superior external capsule suspect for a gliotic focus or a small old lacunar infarct. No areas of restricted diffusion are seen to suggest acute infarct. No enhancing intraparenchymal abnormalities are seen. I am a 64 year old female.

Hello Madam,
Lacunar infarcts are small deep infarcts in the distal distribution of penetrating vessels (lenticulostriate, thalamoperforating, pontine perforating arteries, recurrent artery of Heubner). T
hey result from occlusion of one of the small penetrating end arteries at the base of the brain and are due to fibrinoid degeneration.

Gliosis is a scar . Its caused due to the parenchyma injury .

Its a chronic process which as caused it.
The MRI says no acute changes seen and no other abnormalities seen.

Thank You.
