What Is My CT Scan Result Suggestive Of?

just had a ct scan and it shows a 5 cm adnexal hypodense lession likely represents right ovarian cyst and a 1.2cm left ovarian follicular cyst suspected prominent endometrium, Does this meanhave to have a hysterectomy or does further testing have to be done first?

Hello,

This results of CT scan shows that you are having two cysts one on right ovary bigger as 5cm and one on left 1.2 cm.
Further tests should be done like CA 125 that is a marker which shows if the cysts are with malignant origin or not.
The treatment depends on the result of it.
Possible not hysterectomy but oophorectomy which means ovaries may be removed if the results are for malignancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
