What Is My Blood Test Report Suggestive Of?

I had blood recently done one month ago with high alkaline phosphate levels of 192 and ALT level of 60 my AST was 34.I had blood work checked again yesterday and my GGT was way high at 289! Also my ALT, ALP, A AND AST all went up after stopping alcohol! I had liver scan last year with no abnormalities, I feel very confused by this I eat all good thinks and work out regular and do weight bearing exercises but still have a BMW of 28.8 and my cholestral is 288 but my Hdl is very high at 111 which I know is good. I m very scared tough....

Hello, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Alcohol when taken regularly and in excess does affect liver badly, resulting in an increase in the enzyme levels. Once alcohol intake is stopped, invariably liver can regain its function only if it is in the initial stage (fatty liver) and has not progressed towards fibrosis. It will take a few weeks to regain normal functioning and returning to normal level in terms of liver enzyme values.
It is essential to refrain from alcohol, have a healthy diet and maintain healthy habits.
For BMI to return to normal, there has to be a strict balance between food intake and burning of calories through exercise. Reducing weight is always much tough. But you will have to continue working on it.
A daily reduction of 500 calories from actual daily caloric need (Ideal Body Weight X 25 cal = total cals - 500 cal ) based on ideal body weight should be done, then there is a possibility of loosing about half a Kg weight per week. Thanks
