Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi Doctor, am 45 yrs, not been pregnant before. i had an scan and it said. A markedly bulky, non gravid and anteverted uterus is seen with a heterogenous myometrial echotexture. the Cavity is obscured no gastational changes no retained product of conception overies are normal size and stroma echoes. no ovarian cyst adnexa bilaterally free. the salpinges show nothing remarkable. nothing in the pouch of douglas.
Hello dear I understand your concern All the things in the parameter are normal except heterogeneous myometrial echotexture. But thickness is not mentioned in the scan. There is no cyst in ovary, no gestational sac (no pregnancy).
Heterogeneous myometrial echotexture could be due to adenomyosis, polyp, hormonal imbalance, unopposed action of estrogen, endometrial atypia.
I would like to advise in such a situation an endometrial biopsy first and if normal after consultation with your gynaec treatment with progestrones to suppress unopposed growth of endometrium. Hope this may help you
