General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The following conclusions can be drawn based on the ultrasound report you have posted.
1. Uterus and cervix appear to be normal and there are no lesions in these parts.
2. Endometrium is slightly thickened than normal.
3. No free fluid in cul de sac suggests that either there is no evidence of inflammation in the pelvis or there is recent ovulation has occurred.
4. Both ovaries are having multiple small follicles beneath the capsule is suggestive of polycystic ovaries.
It may be inferred based on the above findings that she could be having 'Polycystic Ovarian Disease'.
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal imbalance disorder affecting menstrual cycle and ovulation leading to difficulty in conceiving.
However, it is a treatable condition and when medications are given to correct them, wherein, there is a possibility of improvement in chances of conceiving.
What medications are given would help to:
1. Regularize your cycles.
2. Help to ovulate in time.
Once this is achieved, over a period of time, pregnancy is likely to happen.
Kindly consult Gynecologist for detailed evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
I find this answer helpful
