What Is My Ultrasound Result Suggestive Of?

I had a medical abortion on Dec 19th. 2 weeks later, my ultrasound showed a thick endometrium and retained products and my Dr. wanted to do a D&E (similar to D&C) but I waited 2 weeks. Now, 4 weeks after the abortion, spotting stopped 4 days ago, I have no pain or fever and tested negative in a home pregnancy test, but my ultrasound still shows possibility of retained products. What are the risks of waiting for my next period given I have no RPOI clinical symptoms which may take more than 3-4 weeks? Do I need to take the suggested Meprate (Medroxyprogesterone Acetate) tablets to induce a period, do a D&C or can I wait for my natural period? The report says: the endometrium is 13mm and a echogenic lesion with minimal internal vascularity @ 1.3x1.4cm in the endometrial cavity....Echogenic lesion with minimal internal vascularity in endometrial cavity- possible retained products.

hi, welcome to health care magic,
the retained products of coception should be always removed by D and C, if you have waited for so long time and still the usg says the retained products are there better get the d&c done, even you get back your normal cycles there is a chance of the product to be still retained, so if you get the periods also kindly get the usg repeated and let your consultant to decide about the option of the treatment.
