Hi good day. My ultrasound says that i have slightly enlarged anteverted uterus thickened endometrium polycystic right ovary cystic mass, left ovary considered ovarian cyst. I m worried is it that serious could i still be able to bear a child or is it already infertile? I m always bleeding even though it s not my menstrual date and even after contact with my husband. Should i undergo an operation to remove my ovary by the way i m turning 24 years old this coming June 2016, i hope u can help me thanks a lot and more powers.
Though it can be difficult to conceive if a woman is polycystic ovarian syndrome, it is not impossible. It can be done.
Treatment to improve polycystic ovaries normally involves lifestyle changes to reduce any excess weight, metformin and , if necessary, medications to help with ovulation (release of 'eggs' from ovary)
Surgery is not usually indicated for polycystic ovaries. If the ovarian cysts itself is bleeding or ruptured then surgery may be needed but other than this, treatment is usually monitoring.
A pap smear may be needed to rule out cervical causes for the bleeding with intercourse. Infections and vaginal dryness can also cause this problem.
I hope this helps
