What Is My Vaginal Ultrasound Result Suggestive Of?

Went in for my annual ob appointment and had quite a lot of pelvic pain during exam. Dr did vaginal ultrasound also- no ovarian cysts but mentioned an insignificant polyp in uterus and a shadow . Ordered some blood work and pap- waiting on results but what does a shadow indicate and should I be concerned? Does a pap and vaginal ultrasound with blood work typically identify woman-related cancers? He also repeatedly mentioned needing to do a laparoscopy if pain persists. What would the reason be to do this? Thanks- it s hard to know the questions to ask during the visit.

Hello,

You should complete all tests before saying what could be the problem. She may need to do even CA 125 that can show ovarian cancer. Doing a laparoscopy may be advisable if pain persists.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
