What Is Persistent Pain Behind The Left Ear Suggestive Of?
Hi, have had pain behind my left ear for a number of years now. I have had two MRI's and no answers. When it first started it would be brought on by bending over, sneezing or coughing, now it is constant. After the second MRI I was told to try pain management or acupuncture, I hate the idea of having to do the meds so I have recently tried acupuncture, needless to say it's not working. I am at my wits end. Help!!!
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent pain behind the left ear. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like lymphadenopathy, acne mononucleosis, untreated respiratory tract infection, abscess , sebaceous cysts infected lipoma and mastoiditis. It could be due to fluctuations in blood pressure as well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor will examine physically to check tenderness and consistency, may order biopsy or blood test . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory. For now yo should apply warm compresses. You should avoid pricking that with sharp object.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
