After adequate treatment for
scabies, itching may last for a few days i.e 5-7 days, because of
hypersensitivity to dead mites in skin.
However, if this has lasted more than this duration then it might be a different thing altogether.
One possibility to consider is papular
urticaria. Papular urticaria is an itchy skin condition in which lesions resemble lesions of scabies.
Papular urticaria, is in fact a hypersensitive reaction to mosquito bites. These lesions are mainly distributed on exposed body sites like arms and legs.
If I were treating doctor I would have suggested a topical steroid+antibiotic combination cream, twice daily for a few days.
An OTC oral antihistamine e.g
cetrizine 10 mg once daily will provide you symptomatic relief from itching.
