What Is Prolonged Bleeding During Periods Indicative Of?

Hi doctor, ever since I came home from college for the holidays i started my period. it was a normal low that i would usually get and then the last few days of my period it would be a light flow. When I thought that it was at the end of my period, it started to become a heavy flow and it has been like this for two days. So at the moment I have had my period for a week and five days. What could this mean?

I really appreciate your concern, in early age such irregular period is common on other hand the same thing happens in late age although you have not mentioned your age, in either case it is nothing to worry, it seldom in any treatment, just take it easy hope this information helps.
