What Is Purpose Of Taking Duphaston?

hi! i got pregnant last december 15,2010 and after a week miscarriage occurred. jan. 14,2011 was the first day of my menstruation. we had intercourse after my period, feb. 14,2011 there's a bleeding after we had sex, i thought it was just a sign of my period for this month. after that bleeding i tried preg test but it's negative. 3 days ago my doc prescribed duphaston once a day for 14 days, and try another preg test after taking duphaston. I am wondering if i am pregnant or not, what is the purpose of taking duphaston? pls enlighten me on this, i really want to get pregnant.
