What Is Recovery Time Needed After Removal Of Hardware For Full Wrist Fusion?

I had a full wrist fusion done on my dominant right wrist, in June 2010, after a failed partial fusion w/scaphoid extraction. I am to have the hardware (plate and 8 screws) removed, and was wondering what my recovery would be like? will i be casted? and what about the pain?
